The French Riviera (Côte d’Azur in French) is one of my favorite places in France. Famous cities, amazing villages, fabulous landscapes, great food and the sea make it a perfect travel destination. Here are my personal top things to see on the French Riviera that you shouldn’t miss.
Cannes
Cannes is famous for its Film Festival and its luxury boutiques. Don’t forget to walk along the pretty Promenade de la Croisette.
Nice is one of the most visited cities in France and is famous for its Promenade des Anglais and the Castle Hill (Colline du Château) from where you have a nice view over the city.
Rich and famous people love to spend their time in St. Tropez. Its small alleys and the waterfront with many restaurants and cafes are really charming.
You can easily spend one day in Monte-Carlo, because it’s an exciting place with a few interesting sights. Have a look at the Casinos, the luxury hotels and the Opera House, but also visit Fort Antoine and Le Rocher.
Grasse
Grasse is considered as the world’s capital of perfume. I would recommend you to visit the Molinard and the Fragonard Perfume Museum to get a deeper understanding of the perfume making process.
Bar-sur-Loup
La Fête de l’Oranger, one of the best festivals in the region, is taking place every year on Easter Monday.
